AI stocks regained ground on October 9, 2026, as investors reassessed the OpenAI revenue concerns that had shaken parts of the technology market a day earlier. In this selected group of ten gainers, enterprise software led the way: the largest daily increase was 7.42%, compared with 0.61% for the smallest. Cloud services, servers, and networking also featured in the recovery.

The session offered a more useful story than a blanket declaration that the AI trade was back. Some shares recovered losses, while others extended existing gains. The question for investors is which businesses are showing strength—and whether the reasons extend beyond relief over one revenue headline.

What Was the OpenAI Revenue Scare?

The Financial Times reported that OpenAI’s annualized revenue approached $50 billion at the end of September, below the roughly $70 billion figure previously circulating. Its reporting linked the discrepancy to different treatment of revenue through cloud partners, complicating comparisons with rival AI developers. These were reported private-company figures, not publicly audited financial results.

An annualized revenue figure estimates a year’s pace from a shorter period. It is different from revenue already earned over twelve months. A gap between differently defined figures therefore does not, by itself, demonstrate that customer demand suddenly fell.

On October 9, MarketWatch reported, citing Bloomberg, that OpenAI was expected to reach approximately $70 billion in annualized net revenue by year-end. That outlook helped put the earlier concern in context, although a future revenue expectation is still a forecast.

For publicly traded AI businesses, the issue reaches beyond accounting terminology. Investors want to know whether customers can keep paying for computing capacity and whether infrastructure spending will generate acceptable returns. That explains why a private AI developer’s financial outlook can influence cloud computing stocks, equipment suppliers, and software valuations.

How the AI Stocks Were Selected and Ranked

To compile 10 AI Stocks Rising After the OpenAI Revenue Scare, we selected ten AI-related companies listed on the NYSE or Nasdaq that gained on October 9, 2026, and ranked them from the smallest to the largest regular-session percentage increase using Stock Analysis closing data.

This is a selected comparison, not an exhaustive ranking of every AI stock or a list of the market’s ten biggest AI gainers. A positive session does not establish that each company declined the previous day or that OpenAI news caused its entire advance. The closing figures below exclude after-hours price changes.

Our Methodology

To compile 10 AI Stocks Rising After the OpenAI Revenue Scare, we selected 10 AI-related companies listed on the NYSE or Nasdaq that gained on October 9, 2026, and ranked them from the smallest to the largest regular-session percentage increase using Stock Analysis data.

Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN)

Closing share price $262.43 | Daily gain 3.29%

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) gained 3.29%, making it one of the stronger large-company performers in the selection. Its cloud computing operations provide AI exposure, while its retail and other activities broaden the sources of earnings and the potential explanations for daily stock moves.

For investors comparing cloud computing stocks, revenue growth should be evaluated together with profitability and the investment required to support customers. A diversified business may have several drivers operating at once. Friday’s advance is therefore relevant to the wider technology recovery without establishing that easing OpenAI concerns accounted for the entire gain.
