The bullish thesis for XPeng Inc. (NYSE:XPEV) rests on improving sequential momentum, new product launches, and the potential to earn more from its technology capabilities.

Its October 1 update reported third-quarter deliveries of 118,390 vehicles, up 15% from the preceding quarter. September deliveries reached 41,256, a 5% monthly increase, while the L03 exceeded 10,000 monthly deliveries.

The company also launched its premium G9L in China on September 17 and announced plans for an October global launch in Paris. These developments give investors specific products and delivery trends to monitor rather than a broad promise of electric vehicle growth.

The bullish inference is that successful launches can improve factory utilization and spread development spending across more vehicles. However, sequential improvement alone does not establish a sustained annual growth acceleration.

Technology Revenue Could Improve the Business Mix

Second-quarter results revealed another important distinction. Consolidated gross margin reached 20.7%, while vehicle margin was 12.1%. Services and other revenue increased 93.9% to RMB2.70 billion, and that category reported a 75.1% gross margin.

Those figures suggest that technology-related services and other activities can contribute materially to gross profit. If that contribution expands sustainably, investors could assess the company using a broader earnings model than vehicle manufacturing alone.

The opportunity requires careful interpretation. High-margin service revenue may vary with project timing, while automotive margins remain exposed to product transitions and competition. Second-quarter net loss widened year over year to RMB1.34 billion, even though it narrowed from the preceding quarter.

For XPeng Inc. (NYSE: XPEV), the most attractive bullish scenario combines higher deliveries, stronger vehicle economics, and recurring technology income. That could allow gross profit growth to outpace operating expenses.

The next financial results need to show whether third-quarter delivery momentum improved revenue, margins, and cash consumption. Product excitement creates an opening; a narrowing path to sustainable profitability would give the recovery thesis financial weight.
