5. Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:INTC)

Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC) ranks fifth after delivering one of its strongest quarters in years. Second-quarter revenue increased 25% from the previous year to $16.1 billion, significantly surpassing the company’s earlier guidance. Non-GAAP earnings reached $0.42 per share, compared with a non-GAAP loss of $0.10 per share one year earlier. Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC) also projected third-quarter revenue between $15.8 billion and $16.8 billion, with expected non-GAAP earnings of $0.38 per share. lts challenge the idea that CPUs would become irrelevant as artificial intelligence shifts spending toward GPUs and specialized accelerators. AI servers still require central processing units to coordinate workloads, handle general computing tasks, manage data and support the growing number of AI agents operating across enterprise systems. As agentic AI becomes more widely deployed, the number of CPU-intensive processes surrounding each accelerator may rise substantially.

Demand has become strong enough that Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC) is struggling to supply all the data-center processors customers want. That is a far better problem than the weak demand and excess manufacturing capacity that pressured the company in earlier years. Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC) raised its capital-expenditure forecast from approximately $18 billion to more than $20 billion as it prepares facilities and equipment for expected growth through 2027. dry business also showed progress, with foundry revenue increasing sharply from the previous year. However, investors are still waiting for a major new external customer announcement that would independently validate Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC)’s ability to manufacture advanced chips for third parties. Building semiconductor factories is extraordinarily expensive, and higher capital spending becomes dangerous when utilization, yields or customer commitments fail to develop as planned.

The headline numbers also require careful interpretation because Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC) reported a substantial GAAP loss related to charges even as its adjusted operating performance improved. The turnaround is clearly gaining momentum, but the company has not yet completed the transformation from an embattled legacy chipmaker into a consistently profitable AI infrastructure supplier.

Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC) nevertheless deserves a position in the top five. Data-center CPU demand is real, revenue growth has accelerated, margins have recovered and management’s forecast indicates that the second quarter was not an isolated event. The risk is much higher than with the most established AI leaders, but the potential reward is also considerable if manufacturing execution and foundry adoption continue improving.
