7. Figure Technology Solutions Inc. (NASDAQ:FIGR)

Figure Technology Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: FIGR) lands at No. 7 after posting diluted EPS of $0.35 for the second quarter and exceeding the consensus estimate used in the ranking by $0.11. Yet the stock was down 1.38% at $31.44 in the ranking snapshot, offering a textbook reminder that an earnings beat does not guarantee an immediate share-price rally.

The underlying growth numbers were anything but modest. Figure Technology Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: FIGR) generated second-quarter net revenue of approximately $225.6 million, up 113% from $106.1 million in the prior-year quarter. Net income surged 192% to $87.4 million, while net income margin expanded to 38.8% from 28.3%. Diluted EPS increased to $0.35 from just $0.08 a year earlier.

Adjusted figures were also strong. Adjusted net revenue reached $218.4 million, up 95%, while adjusted EBITDA jumped 126% to $119.4 million. The adjusted EBITDA margin improved to 54.6% from 47.2%. Those are unusually large growth rates for a financial technology business already operating at meaningful scale, which helps explain why Figure Technology Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: FIGR) has become one of the more closely watched fintech stocks in the market.

Figure Technology Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: FIGR) describes itself as a blockchain-native capital marketplace focused on the origination, funding, sale and trading of tokenized assets. Consumer Loan Marketplace volume reached $4.3 billion during the quarter, up 132% year over year. Figure Connect accounted for $2.8 billion of that amount, while the company said weekly applications had surpassed $1 billion by July.

That combination of blockchain infrastructure and conventional credit markets is part of what makes Figure Technology Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: FIGR) unusual. While cryptocurrencies tend to dominate public discussion about blockchain, one of the technology’s more commercially important applications may eventually be the infrastructure behind loans, securities and other financial assets. Figure Technology Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: FIGR) is effectively betting that moving portions of the capital markets on-chain can reduce friction and improve efficiency.

The market’s negative reaction despite the earnings beat is equally instructive. Stocks trade against expectations, not merely reported numbers. A fast-growing company can deliver triple-digit revenue growth and still decline when valuation, forward guidance or expectations have already moved even faster. For investors searching for fintech stocks, blockchain stocks, Q2 earnings winners and companies beating EPS estimates, Figure Technology Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ: FIGR) delivered one of the stronger fundamental reports in the ranking even if the immediate stock move told a different story.
