Archer Aviation Inc. (NYSE:ACHR) is a next-generation aerospace company on a mission to revolutionize the way people move within cities and between metropolitan areas through the development and commercialization of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Founded in 2018 and headquartered in San Jose, California, Archer was established with a bold vision: to create a clean, quiet, and safe alternative to traditional ground transportation and short-haul flights by enabling electric air taxis that can bypass traffic and reduce urban congestion.

At the core of Archer’s innovation is its flagship aircraft, the Midnight, a four-passenger, piloted eVTOL aircraft designed for rapid, repeated flights of 20 to 50 miles. Midnight is optimized for urban mobility, with a design emphasis on low noise, zero emissions, and fast turnaround times between trips. Archer’s focus on short-hop intracity and intercity routes positions it uniquely in the growing urban air mobility (UAM) space, where convenience, sustainability, and scalability are key differentiators.

From its inception, Archer Aviation has pursued a dual strategy of technical excellence and commercial readiness. Its team includes aerospace veterans and innovators with experience from industry leaders such as Boeing, Airbus, and NASA. In just a few years, the company has made remarkable progress—achieving key regulatory milestones, forming high-profile commercial partnerships, securing government contracts, and building a growing order book valued at over $6 billion. Archer’s commitment to safety and compliance is underscored by its ongoing engagement with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), with multiple certifications already in place, including Part 135 for air carrier operations and Part 145 for aircraft maintenance.

Archer’s global ambitions are backed by a robust network of partners. The company has entered into a manufacturing partnership with Stellantis, one of the world’s largest automakers, to build Midnight aircraft at scale in Georgia. Its collaboration with United Airlines includes a pre-order of 200 aircraft, positioning Archer as a preferred air mobility provider for regional airline routes and hub-to-city transfers. The company also has a growing international footprint, marked by a landmark partnership with Jetex, a luxury aviation terminal operator, to develop infrastructure for air taxi services across more than 30 countries starting with the United Arab Emirates.

Another key differentiator for Archer is its multi-sector strategy, spanning commercial aviation, defense, and public transportation. Archer secured a significant agreement with the U.S. Air Force through its Agility Prime initiative, validating the strategic value of eVTOL aircraft for defense and logistics missions. This diversification into military-grade aircraft development provides the company with not only additional revenue channels but also unique technology validation and funding support from government stakeholders.

Archer’s reputation and visibility have been further elevated by its selection as the official air taxi provider for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. This partnership places the company in a global spotlight, demonstrating its ability to deliver real-world solutions at scale and in high-profile environments.

With test flights now surpassing hundreds of successful missions, and FAA type certification expected by 2025 or early 2026, Archer is approaching the commercialization threshold. It is one of the few companies in the eVTOL space with sufficient capital, regulatory progress, and infrastructure plans to transition from prototype to production and operation. Supported by nearly $2 billion in liquidity and a growing team of industry experts, Archer Aviation is well-positioned to launch the next era of mobility—one defined by electric-powered, on-demand air transportation that is as routine as booking a rideshare today.

As cities around the world seek sustainable, high-capacity solutions to rising traffic and pollution, Archer Aviation stands out as a credible leader. By blending aerospace engineering, urban planning, artificial intelligence, and clean energy innovation, Archer isn’t just building a new aircraft—it’s building a new transportation ecosystem that could reshape the way we live and travel in the 21st century.

Global Infrastructure Expansion Begins with Jetex Partnership

One of the most pivotal developments in Archer’s go-to-market strategy came in June 2025, when the company signed a major strategic partnership with Jetex, a global leader in private aviation services. Under this agreement, Jetex will develop physical and operational infrastructure at its network of over 40 private terminals across more than 30 countries, beginning with a rollout in the United Arab Emirates. This partnership gives Archer a head start in building the real-world infrastructure needed to support commercial Midnight flights and air taxi operations in global city hubs.

This strategic move complements Archer’s earlier decision to join a five-nation regulatory alliance, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. The alliance is focused on streamlining eVTOL certification standards and accelerating international deployment. By establishing both the regulatory and physical ecosystems simultaneously, Archer is optimizing for speed-to-market and scalable adoption—something few competitors have yet achieved.

Certification Progress and Test Flights Pave the Way for Commercialization

With over 400 test flights completed, Archer’s Midnight aircraft is already deep into FAA type certification and has secured both Part 135 and Part 145 approvals, allowing the company to legally operate and maintain commercial air services in the United States. The company’s partnership with Stellantis—which is helping manufacture the Midnight aircraft in Georgia—combined with AI-based navigation assistance via Palantir Technologies, further highlights Archer’s operational edge as it prepares for launch.

Adding to its momentum, Archer was selected as the official air taxi provider for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, a globally visible platform that will serve as a functional and symbolic launch pad for urban air mobility. As Archer continues to align its technology, infrastructure, and policy goals, the Midnight jet is emerging as one of the most commercially viable eVTOLs in the industry.

Financial Strength, Improved Forecasts, and Undervalued Metrics

From a financial standpoint, Archer Aviation has shored up its balance sheet with nearly $2 billion in liquidity, raised through two strategic stock offerings in 2025. These funds are being deployed to support certification programs, manufacturing scale-up, and global infrastructure initiatives. Despite this capital infusion, the company continues to trade at what analysts consider an attractive valuation. According to Zacks Investment Research, Archer’s stock is trading at a Price-to-Book ratio of 5.43, slightly below the industry average of 5.87, signaling potential room for multiple expansion as revenue materializes.

Over the past year, Archer’s stock has delivered a staggering 173.2% return, far outpacing the industry average of 16.4%. The Zacks Consensus Estimate for the company’s 2025 and 2026 losses has also improved significantly over the last 60 days, showing growing confidence in Archer’s financial trajectory. Although the stock currently holds a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold), the improving estimates and robust long-term outlook suggest that a rating upgrade may be on the horizon as milestones are met.

Industry Positioning Against Rising Competition

While Archer is a leader in the eVTOL race, it operates in a landscape that is heating up with competition. Joby Aviation, for example, has already completed over 40,000 miles of test flights and is actively deploying aircraft in Los Angeles, New York, and Dubai. Similarly, Eve Air Mobility, backed by Brazilian aerospace giant Embraer, is developing regional air taxis with an integrated urban air traffic control system.

However, Archer differentiates itself through its aggressive commercialization timeline, global partnerships, and integrated strategy. Its aircraft design is optimized for short-range, high-frequency city trips, while its infrastructure strategy with Jetex provides a turnkey solution for international expansion. The company’s multi-sector focus—including commercial airline partnerships, defense contracts with the U.S. Air Force, and Olympic-level branding—adds layers of opportunity and visibility unmatched by peers.

Why the Bull Case for Archer Aviation Is Stronger Than Ever

Archer Aviation is not simply developing another aircraft; it is architecting an entire future mobility ecosystem. With infrastructure deals now spanning Asia, the Middle East, and North America, and regulatory alliances simplifying international certification, Archer is constructing the first scalable, global eVTOL network. The Midnight jet is nearing the final stages of regulatory clearance, manufacturing is being scaled in partnership with one of the world’s largest automakers, and public acceptance is growing thanks to strategic visibility plays like the 2028 Olympics.

Its current stock performance, improved financial estimates, and relative valuation discount offer a rare blend of high-growth potential at a reasonable entry point. For investors seeking long-term exposure to the convergence of clean tech, aviation, and mobility innovation, Archer Aviation offers one of the most credible, capitalized, and commercially ready platforms in the entire eVTOL sector.
