2. Eton Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ:ETON)

Eton Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: ETON) nearly took the top spot after producing one of the most explosive earnings reports in the ranking. The company delivered non-GAAP EPS of $0.43 compared with the $0.19 Wall Street forecast used here, beating expectations by $0.24. Shares responded emphatically, rising 44.36% to around $58.90 in the ranking snapshot.

This was not a case where EPS beat because of a minor adjustment while the rest of the business struggled. Eton Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: ETON) reported record second-quarter product sales of $37.6 million, representing 99% growth from the same period in 2025. GAAP diluted EPS reached $0.35, while non-GAAP diluted EPS came in at $0.43. Adjusted EBITDA surged to $16.2 million, equal to approximately 43% of revenue, compared with $3.1 million and a 16% margin a year earlier.

Net income reached $11.6 million compared with a $2.6 million net loss in the prior-year quarter. On an adjusted basis, net income climbed to $14.3 million from $1.5 million. Those numbers illustrate one of the most powerful shifts investors can encounter in small-cap healthcare stocks: a business moving from the investment-heavy development stage toward meaningful commercial profitability.

Eton Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: ETON) focuses on treatments for rare diseases, particularly conditions affecting pediatric patients and endocrine disorders. Unlike large pharmaceutical companies that may have dozens of major franchises, smaller rare-disease companies can sometimes see their financial results change dramatically when just a few specialized products gain traction.

The company’s confidence was reflected in guidance. Eton Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: ETON) raised its 2026 revenue forecast to more than $145 million, up from its previous expectation of more than $120 million. That $25 million-plus increase in the minimum revenue outlook is significant for a company of this size and helps explain why investors reacted so strongly to the quarterly results.

There were multiple product developments supporting the growth story. Eton Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: ETON) completed the patient conversion associated with its HEMANGEOL relaunch ahead of schedule, acquired the late-stage product candidate ASN-001, submitted an FDA request tied to expanding the indication for KHINDIVI, received Fast Track designation for AMGLIDIA, and obtained U.S. commercialization rights to the orphan drug IMPAVIDO.

The nearly 44% stock-price jump following the report demonstrates what can happen when a smaller growth company simultaneously beats earnings, beats sales expectations and raises guidance. Wall Street often refers to that combination informally as a “beat and raise,” and it is one of the more potent setups during earnings season.

Eton Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: ETON) therefore stands out among biotech stocks, pharmaceutical stocks, rare-disease stocks, healthcare growth stocks and earnings surprise stocks not merely because EPS came in $0.24 above expectations, but because the earnings beat was accompanied by rapid revenue growth and a substantially higher full-year forecast.
